Meet Ernesto Smith, owner of Phat Performance Parts and ASE certified technician

Ernesto Smith started repairing cars at the age of 13. His older brother never bought a serviceable car, so in his spare time Ernesto would figure out what was wrong with the car and eventually fix the problem. It became a constant situation with Ernesto constantly fixing cars his brother brought him.

Over time, Ernesto went to work at a small store in Glendora. The store specialized in European cars, which gave Ernesto the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience repairing Bentleys, Porsche, Range Rovers, Mercedes, BMWs and other expensive makes and models.

After training in the ASE program, Ernesto went to work for a company specializing in German cars, upgraded his skills and worked for the company for about eight years. Then he went to work for a friend who had an engine rebuilding shop. Here Ernesto learned everything he needed to know about engine rebuilding and gained hands-on experience with race car engines, boat engines and more.
